Comcast SportsNet will be featuring Portland State Athletics the week of May 5-11 with original programming and replays of Viking sports events. Three new shows, Camp Glanville: Tackling PSU Football; PSU's Journey To The Big Dance; and PSU to the Pros will all premier on CSN next week.
Comcast SportsNet has been following the Viking football team around spring practice, meetings and campus this spring in preparation for a 20-week television series to begin airing on May 5 at 6 p.m. The show "Camp Glanville: Tackling PSU Football," will follow the Viking team's preparation from the start of spring practice, through the summer, to the start of fall practice and into the first game. New episodes premiere each Monday at 6 p.m.
PSU's Journey To The Big Dance will highlight the finest season in Portland State men's basketball history. The 2007-08 season is featured with interviews of Viking players, coaches and highlights. That show premieres on May 6 at noon, 6:30 and 9 p.m.
Another television feature by CSN, "PSU To The Pros", will feature former All-American center Brennen Carvalho as he prepares for a shot at the NFL. The show, which premieres May 5 at 6:30 p.m., has interviews and highlights, and features Carvalho's training as the NFL Draft and free agent signings near. Also featured in the show is a Viking who has already made it to the Pros and is flourishing - NBA forward Ime Udoka of the San Antonio Spurs.
Other highlights of the week will include replays of Jerry Glanville:
The Man, The Coach, The Legend; and Viking Football and Basketball games. Those games include PSU's football win at New Mexico on Sept. 2, 2006 (May 5 at 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.), and PSU men's basketball games televised on CSN this past season (vs. Idaho State, May 6 at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.; vs. Montana, May 7 at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.; and the Big Sky Semifinal game, May 8 at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.).
Multiple replays of all Viking shows will take place during PSU Week.
