A local memorial service for former Portland State assistant football coach Jeff Hoover will be held on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 5 p.m. at Kell's Irish Pub in downtown Portland. The memorial is being hosted by Portland State football alumni.

Hoover, who coached at Portland State from 1995-99 and during the 2006 season, died in a automobile accident late last Saturday night near Effingham, IL. Hoover, who was an assistant football coach at Eastern Illinois, was returning home from a playoff game.

The PSU football alumni group is creating a trust fund for Hoover's children. Information on that fund is still forthcoming, but contributions can be made at the memorial. For details, call 503-381-5480.
