In addition to the third-place finish, SO F Phil Nelson and JR G Dominic Waters each were named to the All-Tournament team at the Great Alaska Shootout.

Seattle went 1-2 at the Great Alaska Shootout, and is 4-3 on the season. They come to the Park Blocks for the first time since Jan. 14, 1980.

COMING UP
Portland State will host Lewis and Clark College on Tuesday, Dec. 9. The Vikings will have to take advantage of the next two home games as their final five non-conference games are on the road. With a third-place finish at the Great Alaska Shootout, Portland State is 5-1 for the first time since 1998-99 when the program opened 5-1 under former coach Joel Sobotka. The last time PSU started 6-1 was in 1976-77 under Ken Edwards... Portland State maintains the best record in the Big Sky Conference through three weeks of the preseason... the Vikings suffered their first loss to a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference team when they fell in overtime to Hampton. PSU is 7-1 all-time against MEAC schools... Portland State is now 3-3 in overtime games under Head Coach Ken Bone.

MORE ON WINNING
? Portland State has won 12 straight at home heading into a home game with Seattle University.
? The Vikings have beaten teams from Conference USA, the West Coast Conference, the Big West Conference and the Mid-American Conference this year.
? The Vikings are 21-4 in the calendar year of 2008.
? Head Coach Ken Bone is 59-40 in four seasons at Portland State, 317-158 in 17 seasons as a collegiate coach.
? With 13 straight Big Sky wins at home, Portland State is two wins short of the school record for consecutive Big Sky home wins (15).
? Portland State has won 14 straight games against Big Sky Conference opponents (including the Big Sky Tournament).
? The Vikings have won six straight Big Sky Conference road games - a school record.
? In 2007-08, for the first time in school history, Portland State had both its men's and women's basketball programs win 20 games in the same season. PSU's men were 23-10, while the Viking women were 22-9 in 2007-08.

HOME IS WHERE THE WINS - AND THE WINNING STREAKS - ARE
Portland State extended its home winning streak to 12 games (10 at Stott, two at the Rose Garden) with an 81-76 win over Portland on Nov. 18, then a 76-75 win over Cal State Fullerton on Nov. 23... PSU was 13-1 at home last season, including 10-1 at the Stott Center... PSU has a 13-game home winning streak against Big Sky Conference opponents, but that won't get tested until Dec. 20 when the Vikings take on Montana... PSU has gone 83-28 in 111 games at the Stott Center since the 1996-97 season. Including home games at Memorial Coliseum (12-6) and the Rose Garden (19-9), the Vikings are 114-43 at home over 13 seasons.

DIGIT TROUBLE
SR G Jeremiah Dominguez has struggled since injuring his right index finger in the Vikings' win over Portland on Nov. 18. Dominguez had 47 points in the Vikings first two games, hitting 14-27 shots, and 9-15 three-point field goals. In the four games since then, Domiguez has managed only 14 points on 5-26 field goals, including 3-19 from three-point range. PSU played those four games in a seven-day stretch. It is hoped that six days off between games will allow Dominguez time to heal the finger... Dominguez still leads the Big Sky in steals (12)... Dominguez scored 24 points with four rebounds, four assists and a steal in 38 minutes of action in a season-opening win over Rice. The Viking point guard was 7-12 from the field, 4-6 from three-point range and hit a key three-pointer with one minute remaining in the game. Perhaps just as impressive, Dominguez did not commit a single turnover at the point. He was named Big Sky Conference Player of the Week for his effort. Dominguez has been named Big Sky Conference Player of the Week three times in his career... in 2007-08, Dominguez led the Vikings in scoring (14.2), three-point field goals (84), assists (4.1) and steals (62), setting a new school record for three-point field goals in a season... last season, Dominguez led the Big Sky Conference in steals (1.94) and three-point field goals made per game (2.63). He ranked second in free throw percentage (.813), third in assists (4.06) and scoring (14.2)... he was the Big Sky Conference Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, first team All-Conference and Big Sky All-Tournament in 2007-08.
