Beginning this week, Portland State's radio home moves permanently to 800 AM KPDQ. Salem Communications, with whom Portland State has a radio contract, has switched the broadcast of Viking basketball games from AM 910 KTRO to its sister station, 800 AM KPDQ.
The signal strength of KPDQ is slightly larger than the current KTRO signal, extending a little further north and south, and reaching approximately 130,000 more customers. The total reach of the station is over two million customers in the Willamette Valley. KPDQ is also available on a free live audio stream on the internet at www.kpdq-am.com.
Portland State men's basketball (12-4, 3-0) plays twice this week, hosting Weber State (7-7, 1-0) on Thursday and Idaho State (4-10, 1-0) on Saturday in Big Sky Conference games. Both games tip off at 7:05 p.m. in the Peter W. Stott Center. The pregame show on 800 AM with Tom Hewitt begins at 6:30. Tickets are available at the door.
