Complete National Letter of Intent Signing Release in pdf format
Head Football Coach Jerry Glanville has signed 25 student-athletes on National Letter of Intent signing day. Eighteen of the signees are from high school, four from junior college, two are four-year transfers and one is a 2008 signee who has resigned an aid agreement.
Among the 25 signees are players spread across every position, allowing Glanville to feel comfortable not only with his talent, but his depth, for the upcoming season.
Portland State added 10 players on offense and 15 on defense.
Portland State has lost a total of 17 players who lettered in 2008, including just 13 seniors. The Vikings will have a total of 16 returning starters and 45 returning letterwinners from the 2008 squad.
JERRY GLANVILLE SAYS
ON HIS 2009 RECRUITING CLASS: “We had a goal to get a specific number of players at each position, and because of the hard work of the assistant coaches we did a good job of hitting those goals.
“From now on, we feel that we have great depth at every position on the team. We are still young in some areas, but we are deep and talented at every position.”
“I think we are now really set with all of our skill positions. I feel like we have great skill players for the next three years. That will make our goal of next year to get bigger linemen, because you have to win up front, and bigger is better.”
