FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. ? Portland State senior sprinter Jernise Saunders came in 22nd out of 30 competitors in the 200 meter prelims on Thursday evening at the NCAA Division I Track & Field Championships.

Additionally, Saunders' time of 11.69 seconds at the NCAA West Regional set a new PSU standard.
A native of Nassau, Bahamas, Saunders took first in both the 100 and 200 meters at the Big Sky Outdoor Championships in mid-May. This came after she won the 60 and 200 meters at the BSC Indoor Championships in late February.
