MISSOULA, Mont. - Junior Frankie Ross tallied her second goal in conference play on a pass from senior Dolly Enneking, her 19th point of the season, to lead Portland State (8-6-1, 2-1-1 Big Sky) to a 1-0 victory over Montana (3-11-1, 1-2-1 Big Sky). The win ties Portland State for third-place in the conference standings and gives Ross here sixth game-winning goal in her career.

Montana was the first team to go on the offensive as Brandee Marone fired a shot wide left of the net 1:06 into the match. The Vikings took their first shot in the 17th minute when Ross fired a shot that was saved by Grace Harris. Ross would fire another shot at 17:29 that sailed above the crossbar, but 27 seconds later would send a high chip shot over Harris' head to give PSU a 1-0 lead.

The Grizzlies only allowed the Vikings to two more shots after Ross' goal and outshot Portland State 5-2. Only the Griz's Lauren Costa tested Cris Lewis for her lone save of the first half. Lewis totaled five stops in her 15th shutout.

In the second half, Montana place Alex Fisher in net in Harris' stead. The Vikings continued to test the Grizzlies defense as they attempted nine shots, four that tested the newly entered goalkeeper. Ross almost added a second goal in the 81st minute when she ricocheted a ball off the crossbar.

For the second consecutive match, Ross tallied six shots. She now leads the team with 47 shots and is ranked No. 8 for shots in a season. She's also ranked No. 6 all-time in shots, with 102. Enneking's assist ties her for second all-time in assists with Jamie Harlor and Sophia Mundy with 11.

Portland State returns back to the Rose City to take on Idaho State Friday and Weber State on Sunday. The senior class will be honored before the match against WSU at PCC - Rock Creek. Admission is free to the public. For directions visit GoViks.com.
