Former Viking player Mickey Polis will serve in the role of Director of Basketball Operations this season. Polis will handle numerous administrative duties for Portland State.       

Polis played the last two seasons as a point guard on the Viking team. He was part of a team that won 46 games, won two Big Sky Conference titles and made two trips to the NCAA Tournament. Polis was the team’s top three-point percentage shooter during that span hitting 47% from long range.

“Mickey is a hard worker and has a bright future in coaching if he continues to pursue this as a career,” said Viking Coach Tyler Geving. “Having been in the program over the last two years he understands our system and expectations. We are fortunate to still have him in our program.”

Polis graduated last summer with a degree in Economics from Portland State.
