Vikings to Meet Lumberjacks in Big Sky Championship Semifinal

PORTLAND, Ore. - The field for the 2009 Big Sky Championship has been finalized, as Portland State will host Northern Arizona Nov. 6 at 4 p.m., and Idaho State will take on Eastern Washington at 1:30 p.m. All tournament matches will played at PCC - Rock Creek, home of the Vikings. The Nov. 8 championship will begin at 11 a.m.

Sacramento State, who ended Friday night as the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament, was bumped from Big Sky contention as Idaho State defeated Weber State, 4-0, and advances as the No. 3 seed.

The Vikings first took on the Lumberjacks in the opening weekend of Big Sky play down in Flagstaff, Ariz., Oct. 11, and played NAU to 86 scoreless minutes until Jenna Samora scored the game-winning goal to defeat the Viks, 1-0.

The winner of the Big Sky Championship will earn the conferences automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament. The tournament pool will be announced Monday Nov. 9, 5 p.m. pacific time.
