Twenty Portland State athletes have earned Academic All-Big Sky Conference honors for the winter season. The athletes were spread among four different teams.
Highlighting the Academic All-Big Sky honorees are seven players of 11 eligible from the women's basketball program. To be eligible for honors a student-athlete must maintain a 3.20 GPA or higher and participate in at least half of the team competitions.
Senior Kelsey Kahle, a three-time All-Big Sky Conference choice and Defensive Player of the Year, was among those who earned Academic All-Big Sky. Earlier this spring, the English major was named third team Academic All-American.
Eight members of the women's track program were named Academic All-Big Sky Conference.
The Portland State men's basketball team had two Academic All-Big Sky honorees, seniors Tyrell Mara and Mickey Polis.
The men's indoor track and field team had three athletes earn academic honors, including senior Peter Jason Tait, who was fifth in the Big Sky Indoor Championship 60 meter hurdles.
