PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland State Athletics Department was on hand for the Community Appreciation Barbecue, presented by the Portland Public Schools Aug. 28, signing autographs for all Portland State fans. The barbecue was in honor of the renaming of the former Clarendon-Portsmouth School, now known as the César Chávez K-8 School.

The athletes and coaches on hand signed autographs for fans and advertised the upcoming free youth clinic on Oct. 2 present the new Our Town, Your Team pledge to the community. United States Senator Ron Wyden was also on hand at the event.
