PORTLAND, Ore. – Senior

Fellow senior
Esty Geiger crossed the ball into the middle from the near sideline to
Megan Martin who one-touched the ball to Renard who took the ball left and then drove the ball into the back of the net for the Vikings only goal of the day.
The Vikings (6-7-2 overall, 2-1-1 Big Sky Conference) held the 1-0 lead until the 20th minute when the Lumberjacks (2-8-7, 1-1-3) equalized the match at 1-1.
From the moment the match started the Vikings were on the attack and dominated the match offensively and defensively. The Vikings out-shot the Lumberjacks 8-to-3 in the first half but then added 12 more shots in the second half to the Lumberjacks' one shot. For the game, Portland State out-shot Northern Arizona 23-to-4.
“I think that whenever you have 23 shots you should come away with more than one goal,” Vikings head coach
Laura Schott said following the match. “I can't fault their effort, I can't fault our chances. I think that we did a lot of positive things. If you don't put it away, you can't win. Today we suffered from a case of that.”
The Vikings had opportunity followed by opportunity in the match to put the match away and come out with a coveted three points in the conference standings but they could not finish on the offensive end. Added to the Vikings' 23 shots in the match, they tallied 10 corner kicks but could not add the game-winning goal. Northern Arizona keeper Lauren Weaver recorded 11 saves in the match.
