Zach Carpenter and junior
Brittany Castillo led the way for the Vikings Saturday morning at the 2011 Big Sky Cross Country Championship. The men's team finished ninth with 236 points while the women's team finished ninth with 273 points.
The women's 5,000-meter race on the Centennial Course led off the day.
Brittany Castillo finished 49th overall with a time of 20:40.03.
Keikoanne Hollins finished just behind in 52nd place with a time of 20:56.10.
Brandy Castillo finished with a time of 21:11.81 for a 55th place finish with Erica Cantos finishing with a time of 23:35.50.
Lora Ross and
Victoria Dinu finished with times of 24:32.38 and 27:57.69 respectively.
Following the women's race, the Vikings' men's team took to the course for the men's 8,000-meter race. Carpenter led the way for the Vikings with a 26th place finish with a time of 26:44.44.
Cary Dunagan finished 42nd overall while
Josue Rodriguez finished 51st with times of 27:27.36 and 28:29.87 respectively.
Both teams will now look towards the NCAA West Regional Saturday, Nov. 12 hosted by Stanford University.
