Nate Endicott posted outstanding results in the 800-meters and 3,000-meter steeplechase, respectively, for the Portland State track team at the Oregon Twilight meet. The Vikings closed the regular season in Eugene and will now begin final preparations for the Big Sky Championship.
Black won the 100-meters with a time of 11.91 seconds and defeated Oregon's Alexandria Davidson by .03 seconds. The New York City native owns the Big Sky's top-time in the event this season at 11.65 seconds, recorded at the Stanford Invitational, and is also the No. 1 time in Portland State history.
Rozcicha, a native of Newberg, turned in a career-best performance in the 800-meters with a time of two minutes, 14.79 seconds to finish third overall in the event. The time was just shy of cracking the PSU top-10, as Adriane Wai (2006-09) sits at No. 10 with a time of 2:14.36.
The Thurston native, Endicott, became the last Viking to qualify for the Big Sky Championship May 11-14 with his performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. After missing the qualifying mark last week by only .24 seconds, Endicott recorded a time of 9:26.85, only 1.84 seconds off his career-best time and finished ninth overall.
Junior
Joenisha Vinson finished second in the long jump with her best open competition-performance of the season at 18 feet, 1.75 inches. Vinson turned in an outdoor-best of 18-5.25 in the heptathlon at the California Invitational April 14.
Senior
Adrienne Davis was the top-collegiate finisher in the women's shot put with a throw of 44-5.50 and was fourth overall in the competition. Junior
Tony Crisofulli finished fourth in the 800-meters with a time of 1:50.67. The NCAA West Regional qualifier turned in his second-best performance of the season in the event.
The Vikings multi-event athletes will begin competition for PSU at the Big Sky Championship May 11-12, while the rest of the team will compete May 13-14.
