The Portland State Football team will use the bye in the schedule this weekend to take part in the United Cerebral Palsy Walk. The UCP Walk, Roll and Run takes place on Saturday, Sept. 10. Included are a 2.5 mile walk/roll along the Eastbank Esplanade and Waterfront Park and 8k run along the Springwater Corridor. The run begins at 9 a.m., while the Walk/Roll starts at 10:30. The start/finish is located at the RiverEast Center at 1515 SE Water Avenue.

Portland State football players will be taking part in the walk/roll as well as handing out water, assisting with registration and signing autographs.

Once again this year, the Portland State Athletics program will take part in "The Walk To Defeat ALS." Student-athletes, coaches and staff from PSU will comprise "Team Elinore" as it has for many years in honor of Elinore Nudelman. The late Elinore and her husband, Jerry, have been longtime Viking boosters.

The Walk takes place Sunday, Sept. 25 at noon, beginning at the World Trade Center in downtown Portland.
