PORTLAND, Ore
. – The Portland State indoor track teams continue to run well and improve on their times or marks, as was the case Saturday at the Cherry & Silver Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M.
 
On the women's side, Geronne Black continues to dominate the women's 60-meter dash as she won her preliminary heat and then went on to finish second overall in the finals with a season-best time of 7.47. She shaved 0.02 seconds off her previous season best time from a week ago at the UW Indoor Preview and is inching her way closer to her school and conference record of 7.43.
 
Karene King won her heat of the women's 200 with a time of 24.08 which was good enough to finish second overall for the event. Her time Saturday is just 0.06 seconds off her school record, which she set last year.
 
Senior Dominique Maloney finished in ninth place in the women's 400 with a career-best time of 56.90 which places her third all-time at Portland State for the event.
 
Amber Rozcicha finished ninth in the women's 800 with a time of 2:18.52 while P'Lar Dorsett finished the women's 60-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 9.00.
 
Montaisha Moore set career bests in the long and triple jump events with marks of 17-03.50 (5.27m) and 38-02.50 (11.64m) respectively.
 
On the men's side Jake Ovgard set a personal-best time of 7.13 in the men's 60-meter dash, which is just outside of the top-10 all-time at Portland State by just 0.02 seconds. He also set a personal-best time of 22.72 in the 200-meter dash.
 
Luke Leddige recorded a season-best time of 8.63 in the 60-meter hurdles and just missed making the finals for the event. He is just 0.03 seconds shy of his career-best time of 8.60 for the event, which he set last season.
 
Sean Mackelvie set personal bests in the long and triple jump events with distances of 21-10.25 (6.66m) and 45-00.50 (13.73m) respectively.
 
The Vikings will be back out on the track next Friday and Saturday, Jan. 27-28 at the UW Invitational in Seattle, Wash. It will be the second of three trips to the Dempsey Indoor Track this season for the Vikings.
