PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland State athletics department inducted six new members to its Hall of Fame last weekend and the Portland State media relations department will be releasing a series of six videos documenting the induction ceremony.
This video features the induction of Ryan Fuqua '04.
Fuqua was a four-year starter for the Vikings who rushed for 1,000+ yards in three of his four seasons. As a freshman, he had 1,586 yards to rank fifth in the nation, and led the nation with 7.6 yards per carry. Fuqua set a school record with 393 rushing yards in a game against Eastern Washington that season, was named Big Sky Newcomer of the Year and earned third team All-American honors from the Associated Press. Following that, he was a second team All-Big Sky choice in 2002, and a two-time honorable mention All-BSC choice. Fuqua finished his career second all-time in rushing (4,730 yards) and fourth all-time in touchdowns (47) at PSU. He led the Big Sky in rushing twice and all-purpose yards once. Fuqua had 21 100-yard games and six 200-yard games during his career. Fuqua was a three-time Big Sky Player of the Week and three-time National Player of the Week.
