PORTLAND – Portland State junior point guard
Kate Lanz will miss the remainder of the 2012-13 season due to an ACL injury.
Lanz suffered the knee injury with less than four minutes remaining in the Vikings win at Weber State last weekend. She was evaluated in Portland this week where it was determined that she had suffered the season-ending ACL injury.
Lanz was leading the Vikings averaging 3.4 assists per game. She also averaged 8.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game after being moved back to her natural position of point guard this season.
Lanz scored 11 points prior to the injury at Weber State surpassing the 500-point mark for her career. She reached the milestone in 37 games which is tied for the fourth fastest in school history.
Portland State plays at the University of Portland Saturday night. The Vikings and Pilots are slated for a 5:15 p.m. tipoff at the Chiles Center on the UP campus.
