SALEM, Ore. – The Portland State track and field teams continued their pursuit of outdoor excellence at the Willamette Invitational this weekend as they took down two Charles Bowles Track records. The women's 4x100-meter relay team set the track record, as did three individuals in the women's 100-meter dash.
 
P'Lar Dorsett, Sierra Brooks, Anaiah Rhodes and Geronne Black teamed up to take down the track record in the women's 4x100-meter relay Saturday afternoon with a time of 46.99. The time is shy of the squads season best time of 46.47 set at the Oregon Preview, but it breaks the previous track record of 47.05 set in 2007.
 
Black continued her track breaking ways in the women's 100-meter dash as she set the track record with a first-place finish and a time of 11.67, which is a season best time but shy of her career-best of 11.65.
 
Former Viking Karene King, making her professional debut, finished second in the 100-meters which a time of 11.80 which also bests the tracks' previous best. Jazmin Ratcliff posted a time of 12.02, which places her eighth all-time at Portland State while Rhodes claimed sole position of 10th all-time at Portland State with a time of 12.05 also breaking the previous track best.
 
Black and Rhodes had already punched their ticket to the Big Sky Outdoor Track & Field Championship for the 100-meters but Ratcliff and Brooks (12.21) added their names to the qualifying list on Saturday.
 
Brooks finished second in the women's 200-meters with a time of 25.02 which qualified her for the Big Sky Championship.
 
Cassandra Sidner moved into fifth all-time in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.45 while Ashley Frazier moved into fourth all-time in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.39.
 
Hanna Johnson finished second overall in the women's shot put with a personal-best of 44-09.50 (13.65m) to place her fifth all-time at Portland State.
 
Ali Super, a junior transfer from Clackamas Community College, threw the javelin for the first time in her Portland State career Saturday and threw a distance of 133-07 (40.72m), which immediately places her fourth all-time and qualifies her for the Big Sky Championship.
 
Shae Carson finished third in the women's discus throw with a personal-best distance of 134-01 (40.86).
 
Amber Rozcicha ran the women's 5,000-meters for the first time in her career and posted a time of 17:20.11, which qualifies her for the Big Sky Championship.
 
On the men's side, Sean Mackelvie competed for the first time this spring in the men's long jump and posted a team best distance of 20-09.25 (6.33m). 

Jake Ovgard finished second in the men's 100-meter dash with a career-best time of 10.90 to qualify for the Big Sky Championship. His time also ties him for 10th all-time at Portland State for the event. 
 
Zach Carpenter ran the men's 5,000-meters for the first time this spring and posted a time of 15:04.17.
 
The Vikings next head to the MONDO Invitational at Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, Calif. April 12-14. The Vikings have historically done well at the invitational and last year was no different with the women's 4x400-meter relay team breaking the school record and the women's 4x100-meter relay team setting the meet record.
