SEATTLE, Wash. – Megan Govi and Marti Pellicano won in singles play but the Vikings fell to the Redhawks of Seattle University Saturday afternoon by a score of 5-2 at the Seattle University Tennis Courts. It is the second time this season the Vikings have fell 5-2 to the Redhawks.
 
Pellicano has fared well this season against the Redhawks having won both of her singles matches. She defeated Alexandra Farrar at the No. 2 singles position on Feb. 10 and then took down Anna Lambert Saturday at the No. 3 singles line in three sets. She dropped the first set by a score of 6-4 on Saturday before bouncing back in the second to win handedly by a score of 6-0. The third set was tougher to put away for Pellicano but she eventually took the match 7-5 in the decisive third set.
 
Govi picked up her seventh singles victory of season with her three set win Saturday. Govi, like Pellicano, dropped her first set by a score of 6-1. She then took the second set by a score of 6-3 forcing a third set which she took again by a score of 6-3.
 
Pellicano and Govi's wins came after the Redhawks had a dual lead of 3-0 after  sweaping the Vikings in doubles play to take the double point and winning the No. 2 and No. 1 singles matches. The two wins for the Vikings brought the dual score to 3-2 in favor of the Redhwaks with two singles matches left.
 
The Vikings could not mount a comeback however as Marina Todd and Nayanatara Vadali both lost to finish out the dual. Vadali's luck has continued to get worse as she suffered her sixth three set loss of the season.
 
The Vikings now return home for two Big Sky Conference matches to finish out the season. They host Weber State on Friday, April 13 at 10 a.m. and then Northern Colorado on Saturday, April 14 at 1 p.m. Both duals will be played at Club Green Meadows in Vancouver, Wash. The Northern Arizona dual will run at the same time as the Portland State men's tennis team takes on Northern Arizona.
