Mandy Keifer finds herself in seventh through four events of the women's heptathlon at the 2012 Big Sky Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship in Bozeman, Mont. She tallied 2,882 points at the end of day one.
Keifer started the day with a second place finish in the 100-meter hurdles. She ran a personal best time of 14.62 earning 892 points in the event. She beat her previous personal best of 15.58 by nearly a full second.
Keifer then tied her personal-best in the outdoor high jump with a mark of 5-00.25 (1.53m) to finish seventh in the event earning 655 points for a two-event total of 1,547.
In the third event of the day, Keifer finished fourth in the shot put with a mark of 37-10.00 (11.53m) which is shy of her previous best. Her 630 points for the shot put moved her running total to 2,177 points.
Keifer then finished eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.10 to pick up 704 points finishing the first day of competition in seventh with 2,882 points.
The women's heptathlon continues on Thursday with the final three events. The heptathlon continues with the long jump, javelin and 800-meters.
