THE STARTING BLOCKS
The Portland State men and women's track and field teams will compete in their third meet of the year when they travel to Albuquerque, N.M. for the Cherry and Silver Invitational on Jan. 18-19. The first day of the two-day event will start at 3 p.m. and will feature men and women's high jump and weight throw for the field events and the 200-meter, 400-meter, 600-meter, 3,000-meter and mile for both the men and women. Saturday will begin at 9 a.m. and will host a slew of events. Meet schedule, and heat sheet can be found below.

LAST TIME OUT
The Portland State men and women's track and field teams had a solid showing in Seattle, Wash., last weekend at the UW Preview. On the women's side, seniors Amber Rozcicha and Geronne Black stole the show as Rozcicha shattered the 3,000m school record by 24 seconds while Black once again flew past her competition in the 60m with a time of 7.41. On the men's side PSU's distance runners all set personal bests in the 3000m and Herman Rosenberg continue his strong start turning in the Viks' best time in the 400m with a mark of 49.46.

Portland State has gotten off to a fast start in 2012-13 and several women have recorded nationally ranked times. Below is a list of PSU athletes who are currently excelling on the national stage:
