LAST TIME OUT
The Portland State women's track and field team had another record-setting weekend at the Cherry and Silver invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., last weekend. Seniors Geronne Black and Joenisha Vinson both set new program records in their respective events as Black set the new PSU and Big Sky standard in the 60m (7.34) and Vinson recorded a time of 8.46 in the 60m hurdles, a new Viking best. Anaiah Rhodes also had a strong weekend as she set multiple personal bests in several events and qualified for the Big Sky Championship in the 200m. Hanna Johnson narrowly missed setting a new school record in the shot put, recording a mark of 14.12m.

While the men didn't mirror the women's record-setting, they did get strong performances out of J.J. Rosenberg, Jake Ovgard and Sean MacKelvie. Rosenberg who has been arguably the team's best sprinter through three meets, impressed once again with marks of 49.28 in the 400-meter event and 22.25 in the 200m. Ovgard also competed for the Vikings in 60-meter and 200-meter events with marks of 7.16 and 23.32, respectively. Sean MacKelvie highlighted the men's field events qualifying for the Big Sky Championship in the triple jump with a distance of 13.96m (45-09.75) while also competing in the long jump and registering a mark of 6.45m.
