The Portland State Athletics program had 37 members of its spring sports teams earn Academic All-Big Sky Conference honors. It was part of another outstanding term academically for Viking sports and wrapped up a strong academic showing for 2016-17.
Eleven of Portland State's 13 programs (combining men's and women's indoor and outdoor track) had team GPAs of 3.13 or higher during spring. Year-long GPAs had 11 programs at 3.11 or higher. Women's cross country had the highest team GPA for the year with a 3.61 mark.
Among competitive teams in the spring, women's tennis (3.55) and softball (3.43) had the highest team GPAs. Spring Academic All-Big Sky honors went to student-athletes who had a 3.20 GPA or higher and competed in at least 50% of their teams' competitions. Honorees are listed below:
