PSU Team Outstanding Defensive Back
Became a starter late in his freshman season and has become a fixture on defense... not only a talented player, but a team leader... has now started the last 24 games he has been available to play... ranks fifth all-time in career pass breakups (27) at PSU... has led the Big Sky in pass breakups and passes defended two years in a row... leader in career tackles (123) among returning players... should be one of the top defensive backs in the Big Sky this season... a remarkable comeback story from heart surgery in high school... played just six games but it was enough to prove himself and earn a scholarship at Portland State.
JUNIOR SEASON • 2015
A steady and important player all season for the Vikings... started all 12 games at cornerback, making 52 tackles, five interceptions and 13 pass breakups... ranked sixth on the team in tackles, second in interceptions and led in pass breakups... led the Big Sky Conference in PBUs and ranked second in INTs... was eighth and 20th, respectively, in the nation... not coincidently, played big in big wins all season... had season-highs of seven tackles in three important wins - at Washington State (9/5), at Idaho State (9/12) and against Montana (10/31)... had two interceptions each in wins over Western Oregon (9/26) and Southern Utah (11/14)... also had three pass breakups and three tackles against SUU, earning Big Sky Conference Player of the Week... named second team All-Big Sky Conference at the end of the season.
SOPHOMORE SEASON • 2014
Started all 10 games he played in... missed two games with injury... ranked eighth on the team with 45 tackles... had one sack, one interception and a team-leading 12 pass breakups on the season... also led the Big Sky and ranked 12th in the nation with 12 pass breakups... saved his best for the biggest opponents... opened the season with eight tackles at Oregon State (8/30)... made six tackles, a sack and three pass breakups at Washington State (9/13)... had five tackles at 15th-ranked Montana State (11/8)... tied a career-high with nine tackles and two pass breakups against fifth-ranked Eastern Washington (11/21)... had a career-high four pass breakups at Sacramento State (11/15)... earned honorable mention All-Big Sky Conference... selected by his teammates as the team’s Most Outstanding Defensive Back at the end of the season.
FRESHMAN SEASON • 2013
Came on strong as the season progressed... began the year as a special teams contributor but eventually started at cornerback... played in all 12 games, starting the final two... had 26 tackles, two pass breakups, an interception and a forced fumble on the season... had six tackles against Sacramento State (11/16)... led the team with nine tackles, had an interception, a forced fumble and a pass breakup at third-ranked Eastern Washington (11/23).
PREVIOUS TO PORTLAND STATE
Lettered in football, basketball and track at Jesuit High School... came back from heart surgery prior to his senior season.... in his first game had a 26-yard interception for touchdown... played in six games, season highlights included two interceptions and catching a 90-yard touchdown pass... a second team All-League selection in basketball and won two state championships... first team All-State in track.

Son of Wade and Christine Coleman... has two brothers, Carlos and Wade Jr., and one sister, Olivia... would like to major in Psychology... hobbies are exercising and hanging out with friends... wants a chance to play in the NFL.
